3. Dishes from plums that you should know

Prunes are convenient and easy to incorporate into your diet. It can be prepared in many different ways and tastes great in a variety of recipes.


You can infuse plums into baked goods, puddings, shaved ice cream, oatmeal, salads, yogurts, smoothies.


3.1. Plum jam

This is definitely a great dish for those who love to eat bread. Plum jam with sweet and sour taste will make you eat it all the time without getting bored.


Ingredients: 500g plum, 250g sugar, lemon juice.


Perform:


Wash the plums and dry them. Use a knife to remove the seeds and marinate with sugar overnight. Pour the sugared plum mixture on the stove. Skim off the white foam floating on top. Boil for about 5 minutes, then reduce the heat to low and add lemon juice and stir well, then turn off the heat.


3.2. Plum syrup

Ingredients: 1kg plums, 800g sugar and 3 teaspoons of salt.


Perform:


Wash the plums and soak them in salted water for 10 minutes. Then drain, peel, remove seeds and cut into small pieces.


Put the plums in a clean box, spread them evenly on top of a layer of sugar, and then arrange the plums on top. Then, cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours.


Put the pot on the stove and cook on low heat until the sugar has dissolved and the syrup is slightly thickened, then turn off the heat. When drinking, put 2 tablespoons of plum syrup in a cup, add a sip of filtered water and add ice according to your preference.

3.3. Japanese salted plum with perilla

This is a popular dish in Japan. Salted plum is often served with rice, which is usually a delicious meal that is very good for health.


Ingredients: 1kg plum, 2kg salt and perilla leaves.


Perform:


Plums are washed and soaked in dilute salt water and then left in a cool place to drain. Then, 1 turn of salt, 1 turn of plum, 1 turn of perilla leaves into a crock pot and press down.


Wait about 2 weeks when plums begin to soften when exposed to the sun for 2-3 days. When the plum has dried on the surface, it can be put in a jar and preserved for later eating.


In addition, there are dishes such as plum juice, prunes, plum pickles, plum ice cream, ... that you can enjoy.
